The thought of making travel reservations is enough tho make some people literally sick to their stomach. Why isn’t there a place to go to just make whatever type of reservations that you need while traveling? Having to find the right deal or jump through hoops is not something that I find fun to do at all.

Maybe the reason that finding travel reservations all in one location is such a task is because there are so many variables.

Anyone who has been anywhere with out a car only makes that travel mistake once. And there is just something about using a car rental reservation service that is comforting. Knowing that you are not going to be stuck in one place and having the ability to get up and drive where ever you want to. Remind me sometime to tell you about my trip across the country in a brand new bright Ford blue Mustang!

And then there are airline reservations. Flying is still supposed to be one of the safest modes of travel. And I guess by sheer mathematical odds this is likely true. Being an ex-air traffic controller I would agree that for the most part air travel is a safe bet. Better than that though, with all of the online offers for discounts in air travel, finding a great deal has become relatively easy… relatively.

Let’s talk about reservations for lodging. This area brings up a whole new set of emotions. Hotel reservations are pretty cheap. But unfortunately many of the hotels that offer them are just as “cheap”. The old saying that you get what you pay can often be true. But not if you do the research. There are some fabulous and affordable hotels available for online hotel reservations these days.

Another side of lodging reservations that is rapidly gaining popularity is vacation rental reservations. With the fall of the housing economy back in 2008, many home owners turned to vacationrentals as a means to make a little more cash to help cover the cost of their inflated mortgages. My friend and had a small property management company and we made it fun to help travelers and vacationers stay in a vacation rental homes rather than the regular and somewhat expensive side of other lodging accommodations.

Another area of travel reservations that I think is gaining momentum is restaurant reservations. When I travel, having my meals preplanned and even sometimes paid for often keeps me on track with my budget. So I take advantage of online coupons and making restaurant reservations ahead of time before I arrive at my travel destination. There is nothing like an vacation that is mostly all inclusive. It really feels like a vacation when you don’t have to worry about a budget.
